Eternal Faith

Eternal-Faith
The question is “Why do we need Faith in Eternity?” Ponder over this question for a minute. This question opened up a whole new world all together.

To most of the church, me included, Eternity feels like a concept of something that is going to manifest somewhere far into the future. So the attitude naturally is “Let’s see when we get there”

Well, this myth got busted when the Lord started to reveal the truth.

It was a warm pleasant morning and I was feeling elated. The reason really was the lovely tingling presence of the Lord lingering in our living room. I sat down on my couch, just enjoying the Lord’s company and savouring the moment.

In an instant I saw a saint of God come in. He was a rather tall and a handsome man of God, with a very gleeful demeanour. Even before I could settle in on this thought, Job blurted out “Do you have Eternal Faith?”

I was jolted by this question.

I pondered in my mind, desperately looking for an answer. Job waited patiently, with a smile, almost as if he knew that I had no answer. He was right. No answer that popped in my head made sense.

“I don’t know Sir” I admitted rather sheepishly.

“It is the faith that lasts an Eternity, do you have Faith that can last an Eternity?” Job replied, in a most sincere manner.

“You have faith to last today, maybe tomorrow and a year down the line. You have faith that all your needs will be met now. But, do you have enough faith that can last an eternity?”

I was too astonished to react.

“How can I develop this Eternal Faith?” I asked feebly. “Meditate on every word that the Lord has spoken to you, through the word of God, through His saints. As you mediate, the Lord will build your faith.”

Seemed simple. Or is it?

At that point I was too dumbfounded to ask this question, but thanks to my dear friend Holy Spirit, who prompted me to ask this question later that day.
